The village playpark has undergone a series of transformations, from just a field with a single swing in 1958 to the modern multi equipped park developed in 2024.

Aerial photo of the playpark taken approximately 1958. A local resident who lived in the council house immediately south of the park remembers the day the huge tree in the behind the roadman's house was felled, with the roots still visible in this photo and until the recent playpark re-development.
Photo from Google Earth taken approximately 2020, befor the re-development of the park in 2024. The roadman's house and hut from the 1958 photo are long gone.
By 2020 the existing playpark equipment, whilst still functional, was showing it's age and Fife Council had already declared it 'end of life'. With a requirement that the village be fully involved in the re-development a full day consultation was held in the Hall where everyone, young and old, could have their say on what a new playpark might look like.
Following a comprehensive community consultation a detailed plan was agreed for the layout of the new playpark.
Following a significant hiatus caused by the COVID pandemic the play park project was revived in 2023. With a plan already in place tenders were sought for the work whilst the local community had to raise a minimum of £3,000 towards the cost. A fantastic local fundraising campaign in early 2024 ieventually raised £8,000 and the go ahead was given for the diggers to move in.
By the end of September the new playpark was complete, looking fantastic and ready for the official re-opening.
