Woodland Planting

The community woodland was alive with the sound of a spades as a large group of villagers and local uniformed organisations set enthusiastically about the task of planting 450 flowering and fruiting trees and shrubs.

Thanks to the generous support from the Woodland Trust, who provided the young plants, we were able to fill in all the empty areas and between the mature trees.

The woodland will now develop over the coming years to provide food and shelter for a much more diverse group of birds and small animals than at present, as well as becoming a much more welcoming area to walk around and enjoy at different times of the year.
